Lifest

Lifest is one of the largest Christian music festivals in the United States. Since 1999, it has been held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In 2021, Lifest expanded to Nashville, Tennessee, where I first joined the production crew for the side stages. Since then, it has become a regular part of my summer, allowing me to enjoy working with a great crew.

Working as a production hand for the Nashville and Oshkosh festivals, I supported one of the five side stages, helping wherever needed allowing crew members to take breaks during the busy schedule. In 2022, I worked both the Wisconsin and Nashville music festivals and currently still help out at the Wisconsin one. My role on the team has required quick thinking and adaptation, as I covered for any and all AV poistions. This meant programming sound consoles, busking on lighting consoles, building LED walls, supplying power for bands and of course, ruining cables. During the festival, I frequently lead the crew during turnarounds to ensure they happen as quickly and effectively as possible. Despite challenges like severe weather and almost no sleep, I treasure each time I do it for the exposure to new workflows and the camaraderie with the rest of the crew. Working a festival like Lifest has taught me a lot both on and off the stage. It truly makes for a unique yet enjoyable experience.

My experience at LifeFest has helped me grow my ability to provide quick and efficient solutions. Often working with incoming bands and confirming their riders has furthered my client relationship skills. I have gained valuable technical skills in console programming and busking. The experience as a whole has provided a unique perspective on outdoor festival production, teaching me how to handle unpredictable challenges and prepare for the known ones.
